Who is responsible for your information
This website is run by Oakley Roofing, a sole trader based in Herne Bay, Kent. Oakley Roofing is the data controller for any personal information you send through it. There is no limited company involved and no registered office - the business operates from a vehicle rather than premises.
For anything to do with your data, email oakley-roofing@outlook.com or call 0800 246 5315.
What is collected
Only what you type into the enquiry form: your name, your phone number, your email address if you give one, which job you are asking about, and whatever you write in the message box. The page you submitted the form from is recorded so it is clear what you were reading.
The form includes a hidden field that only automated bots fill in. If it is completed, the message is discarded.
What it is used for, and the legal basis
Your details are used to reply to your enquiry, arrange a visit, give you a price and carry out any work you go ahead with. Nothing more.
Before you become a customer, the lawful basis is legitimate interests - you have asked for a quote and replying is the obvious expected outcome. Once work is agreed, the basis is performance of a contract. You are not added to a mailing list and you will not be sent marketing.
Who else sees it
Form submissions are delivered by Web3Forms, a third-party form service, which passes the message to the Oakley Roofing email inbox. That inbox is provided by Microsoft (Outlook). The website itself is hosted on Cloudflare Pages, which processes standard server request data such as IP addresses for security and traffic purposes.
Your details are not sold, shared with marketing companies, or passed to other trades. If a job genuinely needs a specialist - a scaffolder, for example - you will be asked first.
Cookies
This site sets no tracking or advertising cookies, and there is no analytics script on it. That is why there is no cookie banner - there is nothing to ask you to consent to.
How long it is kept
Enquiries that do not turn into work are deleted within about twelve months. Records relating to work actually carried out are kept for six years, which is what tax rules and the time limit for contract claims require.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you can ask for a copy of the information held about you, ask for it to be corrected or deleted, object to it being used, or ask for its use to be restricted. Email the address above and it will be dealt with within one month.
If you are unhappy with how it has been handled you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at the ICO's complaints service, or on 0303 123 1113.
